Join Head of Development, James Podesta, and Group company EPG’s Head of Water, Jacqueline Diaz-Nieto, as they breakdown topics surrounding the Environment Act 2021, Biodiversity Net Gain, and the implementation of Schedule 3 of the Flood and Water Management Act 2010.

The lowdown…. BNG laws, introduced in the Environment Act 2021, will push developers to protect and enhance the natural environment, delivering at least a 10% biodiversity net gain. This can be achieved by avoiding loss of habitat on the land they want to develop or creating habitat on or off-site.

Schedule 3 of the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 will make SuDS (sustainable drainage systems) mandatory in new developments. Its purpose is to reduce the risk of surface water flooding and pollution, and also improve biodiversity.
