STRI Consulting and Carrick Construction, part of the STRI Group has been appointed by Blackburn Rovers Football Club to deliver a design and build solution for the reconstruction of the stadium pitch at Ewood Park.
Blackburn Rovers instructed the STRI Consulting to undertake detailed investigations, progress the design of a new stadium pitch and deliver a new high quality elite stadium pitch surface.
Construction of the new surface will improve drainage performance and surface consistency to support the demands of elite professional football and minimise disruption during periods of adverse weather.

The project will address critical pitch elements including drainage, soil profile enhancement, irrigation infrastructure and pitch run-offs, providing a resilient playing surface capable of performing to a high level consistently throughout the season.”
Work commenced on 4 May 2026, with delivery undertaken by Carrick Construction, STRI Group’s construction delivery arm, working closely with STRI Consulting design and technical consultancy teams to ensure the works are delivered to specification.
This integrated approach combines specialist sports surface design and engineering expertise with practical construction delivery, providing Blackburn Rovers with a single, co-ordinated solution from technical investigation and design through to installation and handover.
