This week marks EFL’s Week of Action 2025, a nationwide initiative under the banner “Changing Lives Together”, which highlights the power of football and community activity to make a positive difference.
In keeping with this theme, we are proud to be playing our part in a major community transformation in Staffordshire. We are working with the Port Vale Foundation, Port Vale Football Club and Stoke‑on‑Trent City Council to deliver the Vale Park Community Campus, a £2.3 million investment to revitalise Sproson Park and the surrounding green spaces.
These two initiatives share the same underlying belief that sport and community facilities can be engines for change. The Week of Action celebrates the people, partners and programmes who bring that belief to life and the campus project is a tangible extension of it, right here in Burslem.
With Vale Park Community Campus, we’re looking beyond the stadium. The plans include new youth football pitches for both boys and girls; a multi-use games area (MUGA) designed for children with SEND; padel courts; walking trails; upgraded lighting, signage and CCTV; and a new community-hub building operated by the Foundation to deliver inclusive activities for all ages.

And, importantly, the project embeds sustainability from the outset thanks to comprehensive SuDS (sustainable drainage systems) and environmental improvements which will be incorporated into the design.
It’s great to see our work aligning our work with the ethos of the EFL’s Week of Action, as we work towards creating a venue that does more than host matches. It will become a place of connection, health, wellbeing and opportunity for the whole community.
From the project’s outset, we have been keen to support the club’s community focus and are looking forward to upcoming supporting events in the run up to the festive season, starting with the Port Vale 5k & Boomer Fun Run and Christmas Appeal.
We’re excited to be part of the journey and look forward to sharing updates as the Campus takes shape. Find out more about our involvement with Vale Park Community Campus HERE
