STRI Group, a global design, engineering and management consultancy based in Bingley has launched an annual community grant programme to support charities or community groups nominated by team members. With a workforce located all over the UK, and offices in Australia and the Middle East, the benefits will be far reaching!

£250 grants were awarded to sports clubs local to their Yorkshire head office; Bingley Juniors FC U12s and Oakworth Juniors FC U12s will use the funding towards training hoodies and equipment for the team respectively. Ingrow Cricket Club will use their grant to help set up ‘All Stars’, an ECB initiative aimed at getting five to eight year olds into cricket.

A little further afield, Aldershot Cricket Club in Hampshire will use their grant for the club’s girls’ division, which has teams from U9 to U16, and they will be purchasing new training equipment.

The first of two £500 grants went to Bingley Congs Cricket Club which now plays in the Airedale & Wharfedale Senior League, meaning a higher level of cricket and the need for improved facilities and infrastructure. The grant will be used towards meeting the required standards.

Mogstock Charity Music Festival in Surrey received the second £500 grant. This annual festival in raises money for a number of local charities including psds which supports children with Down Syndrome. The funding will be used to purchase a gazebo, to encourage attendance even if the weather is inclement.

Tina Jessop, Head of Brand at STRI Group commented: “Supporting causes that matter to our team members is important. We recently supported both Sue Ryder and Bingley Food Bank, and wanted to introduce an annual programme to help clubs and causes that employees have a personal involvement with.

“The funding has been gratefully received and we look forward to hearing updates once the money has been put into action!”
