World Cup 2022
Aspire Sports Turf, a joint venture between STRI and Aspire Zone Foundation was launched in 2015 to bolster the sports turf expertise in Qatar. In the months following the launch, AST were awarded the design, construction supervision and maintenance supervision of all pitches for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

StadiaPitch
The aim of this initiative was to develop a modular pitch solution which included large moveable trays, an automated movement system and a bespoke turf storage facility. This was to allow teams to hold events with ease and facilitate a multievent operation model, thereby maximising revenue potential from stadium facilities.

Saudi Cup
STRI was honoured to be selected by The Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia – on behalf of his Excellency Prince Bandar bin Khalid Al Faisal – as principal contractors for the engineering and construction of Saudi Arabia’s first ever turf racetrack.

Golf Course 2030
The R&A are looking to mitigate the effects of climate change throughout the golf world. Given our long-standing relationship with the R&A, we were entrusted to produce reports highlighting problems around water management including increased restrictions of water use and drainage.

The Springs Golf Club
STRI was engaged by The Springs in 2020 to create an inventive solution to reduce water usage on the course. The golf club had recently been purchased by Darwin Escapes who began a significant investment plan across the entirety of the golf club, with the course itself being the first beneficiary.

Ilkley Lawn Tennis & Squash Club
STRI was first engaged with Ilkley Tennis Club as part of an ongoing relationship with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) following the longstanding provision of consultancy, research and tournament support services to The All England Club. We were appointed to conduct consultancy visits at all County Week and Pre-Wimbledon events in the UK.

Harrogate Town A.F.C.
The excitement of a potential long-awaited promotion to League 2 was met with a realisation that there’d be some big changes needed at the club to conform to EFL rules should they achieve it – one of which being that their synthetic home pitch would need to be replaced with a natural turf pitch.

Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club
Cleobury Mortimer is a 27 hole parkland golf course situated in Shropshire, with aspirations to secure the year-round playability of the course through a fully bespoke drainage design and installation.
