For the first time ever, the BASIS Certificate in Crop Protection in Amenity Horticulture course will include both face to face teaching and an online guided self-learning elements (candidates working through materials and pre-recorded audio lectures in their own time with regular live online tutorials).

This course provides training and certification for sellers of agrochemicals and those giving advice on their use in amenity. The BASIS Certificate in Crop Protection for Field Sales and Technical Staff (FSTS) has been established since 1978 to provide training and certification for sellers of pesticides and those giving advice on their use. The BASIS Certificate in Crop Protection has been approved by Ministers to meet the requirements of Schedule 2 of the Control of Pesticide Regulations for certification of those involved in the sale, advice and supply of pesticides.

The face to face training will run 10-14 October at STRI offices in Bingley, covering the practical skills elements and parts of the syllabus that candidates generally find the most challenging so that our team can help you to understand them in person.

The online elements are available for participants to commence with immediately and include subjects such as biodiversity, construction, plant physiology and turf maintenance,

The written exams will all be online, but ID and vivas will be face to face here in Bingley.

 

Face to face teaching dates = 10-14 October 2022

Online written exams = 30 November 2022

ID exam with live samples at Bingley = afternoon 5 December (candidates to arrive mid-morning to allow time for an ID refresher walk)

Vivas at Bingley = 6 December 2022

Cost per person = £2,495 + VAT
